GypsyWindTravelI had the best lunch inside a gas station! Chef Machete, featured in Season 5 of Next Level Chef, runs a hidden gem taco shop with the best tacos I’ve had in a long time! When you’re in the NASA area, you have to go check it out! And don’t forget to add Chef’s proprietary purple Lean Sauce.

Irma Zamora BirdOur first visit to Gordo Ninos. Chef Machete super 👌 guy. His staff is friendly. Chef came out of the kitchen to say hi. I was a kid seeing Mickey Mouse for the first time! Food - all we can say is you need to come try them. We had Shrimp, Pastor, and then we decided to have a bean and cheese burrito (his mom's recommendation) so glad we did. Last but not least the Elote cup. The Lean sauce is a must have. Tuesday special tacos are $2.00. Definitely a great deal.

Sharon QuinonesI had been seeing Chef Machete pop up in my social media feeds for quite a while, but when I saw him compete on Next Level Chef, I knew I had to make the drive and try Gordo Niños for myself. After a four-and-a-half-hour drive, I'm happy to report that it was absolutely worth the trip. I'm happy to report that he lives up to every bit of the hype. The food was outstanding. The tacos were packed with flavor, the quesadilla was crispy and loaded, and the elotes were absolutely worth ordering. And yes, I had to try the famous Lean Sauce. It's unique, unexpected, and somehow just works. What makes this even more impressive is that all of this is coming out of a gas station. Let me be clear: this is not gas station food. This is the kind of place that makes you completely rethink what food inside a gas station can be. The quality, flavor, and creativity rival restaurants I've visited that had much bigger budgets and much fancier addresses. What impressed me most, though, was Chef Machete himself. He happened to be there when I visited, and he was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of everyone who stopped by. Sometimes what you see on TV is a character. In this case, what you see is exactly what you get. The personality you see on Next Level Chef isn't an act—he's genuinely that down-to-earth, approachable, and passionate in person. The food backs up the personality, too. The man can absolutely cook. Great food, great people, and an experience that was well worth the drive. I'll definitely be back.

These are hands down the best tacos in Texas maybe the world idk I love the Houston branding makes me feel very proud to be from space city and the lean sauce is like liquid crack that stuff can’t be from this planet 10/10 sauce so good it’ll make you wanna smack yo momma!!🤘🤘🔥🔥
