A quick little stop on the Texas Independence tour, it'll take you about 1.5 hours to see everything, then there's a 35min video in the theater describing what you'll see in the museum and some nuance. Its $14 adult ticket, audio tour available. The gift shop is mostly books, theres some other things like a few figurines, souvenir coins, a weaving kit, and some models --- but it's about 80% historical books and maps of the various aspects of the area (railroads, fur trapping, boating, etc)
Aug 30, 2026 · Google ReviewWe enjoyed touring the monument and the museum. Easy to overlook this site, but its historic significance is great. Paid admission gets you inside the museum and access up the tower. The narrated movie is excellent overview of the battle and surrounding events. The museum has several artifacts and can take an hour or more to tour. Movie is fairly lengthy, but worth it if you are not familiar with the historic background. There are some trails around the grounds, but we did not do these.
Jul 22, 2026 · Google ReviewIt wasn't open.they were do renovations. We walked around taking pictures. Met one of the workers who was happy to tell us about the monument. The bricks on the outside were to protect the monument from deteriorating. He said inside you were able to see the actual concrete structure.we will go back to see inside. It's a very beautiful site to see.
Jun 9, 2026 · Google ReviewThe reflecting pool that's dried out with a cracked mud bottom needs an upgrade to a swimming pool surface with dark blue tile along the bottom, with some Texas themed decorative tile work in the middle. The sidewalk around the edge of the reflecting pool is nice, but needs some shade and would be Instagram-worthy if a line of crepe myrtles with red blooms were planted along each side (irrigation could be as simple as PVC pipes installed at the correct angled gradient with holes next to the crepe myrtles) and lined with patriotic flowers and wildflowers (ergo bluebonnets, Indian paintbrush, and perrenial blossoms). The six planters along the sides need more Miracle Grow soil and the weeds removed around the bases of the six oak trees, to be replaced by something more picturesque and drought-tolerant like Texas sage and new gold lantana. Some statues of the governors of Texas and some fountains with a splash pads for kids to play at would be fantastic. Adding some white pergolas with white columns for a shaded picnic spot with picnic tables would be picturesque along the reflecting pool.
Aug 29, 2026 · Google ReviewWe visited during Family Day and visited several camps that re-enacted Texas history. Homemade popcorn was made and we learned about the different weapons used during that time period. We also had a chance to see a re enactment of the “Runaway Scrape” and learned some history about the Twin Sisters (cannons). We would definitely visit again.
