Explore League City with Milby
Milby may be small, but he’s got a big list of places he wants to see.
Bring him along as you wander beneath the historic live oaks, explore League City’s Historic District, discover local history, spend time outdoors, and find some of the city’s most photo-worthy spots.
Be sure to snap a photo of Milby everywhere you go. You can pose him among the flowers at Helen’s Garden, exploring Founders Square, heading back in time at the One Room Schoolhouse, or discovering somewhere completely new.
How Milby Got His Name
Milby might be little, but his name comes from a big part of League City history.
He is named after Milby Butler, a member of one of League City’s founding families and an influential local cattleman. In the early 20th century, Butler became known for his work selectively breeding Texas Longhorn cattle at a time when the breed’s numbers had dramatically declined.
His efforts helped preserve the iconic Texas Longhorn for future generations, making Milby the perfect namesake for League City’s own little longhorn.
Today, our Milby is carrying that League City connection with him everywhere he goes—one adventure at a time.
What’s on Milby’s Explore List This Fall?

From pumpkin patches and fall fun to slightly spooky trips through League City history, here’s what our littlest longhorn is looking forward to this season.
Pumpkin Patch Adventures
Milby loves a good pumpkin patch! You might spot him exploring the pumpkin patches at Wayside Coffee Co. & League City Scoop Shop, Watershed Church, or Bay Harbour United Methodist Church. (He’s on a mission to find a pumpkin that’s just his size!)
Murder, Mayhem & Ghostly Tales
Milby loves a good history lesson, even when things get a little spooky! This fall, he’s discovering League City’s mysterious past with the League City Historical Society’s Murder & Mayhem WALKabout Tours and Ghosts of the Gulf Coast: Campfire Tales & Treats.
Explore the Historic District
Cooler weather means more time for Milby to stretch his little legs. He loves wandering through the Historic District, visiting League Park, and stopping for photos beneath the live oaks.
Find a Fall Treat
All that exploring works up an appetite. Milby is always on the lookout for seasonal drinks, sweet treats, and something new to try at League City’s local restaurants and coffee shops.
