Explore Asian Cuisine

As February inevitably brings the occasional bite of cold temperatures, it also brings in warm, family-friendly celebrations like the Chinese New Year. Around League City and Bay Area Houston, restaurants that serve Chinese and Asian cuisines proudly showcase their more traditional foods and drinks offerings that may be on the menu for a day, a week, or throughout this month of celebration.

Given the importance of family and food in the Asian culture, it is no wonder that a lot of care is put into the menu of each restaurant. Food is one of the things that Asian communities take great pride in.

As many of our friends and neighbors celebrate the Chinese New Year, which runs from February 5 through February 19, we explore these Chinese restaurants in League City that have been recommended by TripAdvisor contributors.

Several local favorites, including Wong’s Asian Cuisine and Bao’s Café, are located in the fast-growing western part of League City.

Wong’s Asian Cuisine located on FM 518 (also referred to as West Main) is in a small strip mall in front of Magnolia Estates subdivision.

“Such a great little place. Our server was attentive, and the serving size of each dish was easily enough to feed 2-3 people. Freshly made and delicious!”

Just a little further south on West League City Parkway is Bao’s Café, which is situated in the Kroger shopping center at the corner of Hobbs Road.

“After living in Manhattan with many, many Chinese restaurants I was disappointed in Houston to find not so good Chinese but Bao's in this location is the exception. I love the fresh ingredients and the chef made such excellent hot and sour soup that I will never go anywhere else for this soup which the chef told me was one of her favorites. All the dishes are good and the ingredients are top quality. Try it and you will see.”

If you’re in town checking out the cute boutique shops or local museum’s in League City’s historic district, then a quick stop at Szechuan League City won’t take you too far away from your shopping and sightseeing experience.

“When we have a special guest. We always come here. Never have had anything bad/off. I Love the eggplant dish. platter/with the fire. I forgot what u call it. lol. Any way great dining. Tuesday1121, LaMarque, TX (TripAdvisor)

And who can forget about our South Shore Harbour area with its full-service resort hotel, marinas, and abundant variety of food offerings? The Orient Café located on Marina Bay Drive is the perfect laid-back locale after a day of fun on Clear Lake.

“Reliable good food. Nice and friendly staff. Always timely when ordering takes out by phone. Have my wife's favorite dishes which is a great plus.”
